Adjusting your Pet to Time Changes

When you have a pet and time changes in the fall and the spring schedules can get a little crazy. The days are longer in the summer and shorter in the winter. As the days start to grow shorter, you may notice your dog is asking for dinner a little sooner. His internal clock is set with the daylight and night time. It gets dark sooner so he wants to eat sooner. His bathroom routine may also change. He may need to go potty at 4 in the morning because on old time it's 5 a.m. You may need to take your pup out for a short potty break and then encourage him to go back to bed. This will help him adjust to the new time. You can also take him out later the night before for a last minute potty break. It will be a time change and an adjustment for all of you. Talk to your London, ON vet for assistance.

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is also called feline AIDS. It is caused by the same subfamily of viruses that causes AIDS in humans. Virus that cause AIDS are species-specific which means FIV in cats can't be transmitted to humans or vice versa.
